Mission Statement

The Mission of the DeKalb Council on Literacy, Inc.

Through a coordinated effort to increase awareness of the importance of a literate community; to bring together community resources to support literacy services, and to promote and support literacy training for all residents of DeKalb County.

 Belief

The DeKalb Council on Literacy believes that DeKalb County residents including immigrants and refugees deserve an opportunity to learn to read, write, and speak English and do simple computation. This belief will enhance quality of life, personal success and economic growth and development.
